Zarpar is the platform that connects boat owners and crew members to live unique nautical experiences. ZARPAR’s mission is to multiply by 10 the use of boats in Spain and promote social boating. From 15 outings per year per boat only in summer, to 150 outings all year round.

The day began with a warm welcome to all attendees, especially those who had already shared the welcome cocktail at Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo the previous afternoon.
The program: four thematic blocks
The symposium was structured into four distinct blocks that addressed the most relevant aspects of the sector:
- Ports and legislation: Everything related to marinas and their legal framework
- Government bodies and social boating: The role of administrations in promoting universal and inclusive boating
- Future of nautical clubs: Where we are, what we want and where we’re going
- Legal, tax and accounting aspects: The regulatory challenges affecting all sports institutions
Galicia: a nautical benchmark
José Manuel Merelles highlighted Galicia’s evolution as a nautical destination. From the end of the last century, when there were barely 1,500 berths, to today with:
- 77 nautical clubs
- Over 10,000 berths
- 6 million euros generated around boating
- 6,000 annual transits and growing
Investments and future
The commitment to boating in Galicia is materialized in concrete investments:
- 3 million euros in nautical facilities through Next Generation funds
- 1.5 million euros for the Traslatio project
A shared vision
The symposium made clear that recreational boating is a sector with significant weight in the Spanish GDP, and that it requires joint work between administrations, nautical clubs and the private sector. The defense of social and universal boating, without exclusions, was one of the most prominent messages.
